ATF RAIDS P80!
Dec 12th 2020
ATF conducts raid against manufacturer Polymer 80, claiming their kits are now firearms and therefore they were selling completed handguns without background checks. This is just the most recent in several pushes against 80% lowers in the past month!
In a breaking turn of events, the ATF conducted a raid against Polymer 80 for allegedly illegally manufacturing and distributing firearms, failing to pay taxes, shipping firearms across state lines, and failing to conduct background checks. This information broke Thursday night after the search warrant was unsealed when the raid had been completed.
The ATF is specifically targeting the company’s “ Buy, Build, Shoot Kit " everything you need to complete a pistol at home”. The kit contains a slide, barrel, recoil guide and spring, a lower parts kit, the jig, the drill bits, and an 80% frame. The ATF is claiming, because the pistol can be completed at home in just a few minutes, it is sold as a complete firearm. This requires that they serialize the frame and must conduct a background check on the purchaser. When a company wishes to sell an 80% frame, they must send a sample to the ATF. The ATF then conducts a review of the item. When they finish their review, they give the company a “ Determination Letter “, stating if the object does or does not qualify as a firearm according to the Gun Control Act of 1968. When Polymer 80 began selling their frame, they had to get this determination letter. Which they did! The fact that they sell the rest of the parts with the gun is irrelevant. The part that the government considers a firearm, the frame, has been determined by the ATF as a “ non Firearm object “. The ATF disregarding their own determination letter is complete bullshit!
Bill/Issue: CA AB 88 - Expands Definition of an "Assault Weapon"
6/30/2020 - Summary: Amends a budget bill to sneakily introduce language expanding the definition of an "Assault Weapon." The bill would also expedite adoption of the ban on firearms precursor parts from 2025 to 2022.
CA AB 88 is the State's underhanded attempt to enact new gun control under the table. Should this legislation pass, the State would force you to register even more of your firearms as "assault weapons" or face steep penalties.
What's more, CA AB 88 would give you even less time to purchase firearm precursor parts like barrels and stocks before California starts regulating them.
The anti-gunners are hoping to steamroll this anti-gun bill through the Legislature without you even knowing about it. And we cannot let them get away with this disgusting assault on your rights.
California’s Senate passed even a stricter gun control measures by sneaking them into an already existing budget bill thinking that nobody was watching. They have now moved the 80% Ban up from 2025, to 2022, only a year and a half from now! As soon as Gov. Gavin Newsom signs this bill ( and we know he will ), 80% lowers of all kinds will become illegal three years sooner than planned.

As reported yesterday, Judge Benitez granted the preliminary injunction in the NRA funded case of Rhode v. Becerra. The injunction, became effective upon issuance of the order; enjoining federal and state law enforcement from implementing or enforcing the sales background check provisions, anti-importation provisions, and the criminal enforcement penalties associated with the law.
Today, the California Attorney General filed a motion to stay the preliminary injunction, as the State appeals the ruling. In the motion, the California Attorney General sets an arbitrary timeline on the court to issue a stay of 3pm PST before seeking relief from the Appellate Court.
Update: Late this afternoon, Judge Benitez issued his ruling denying the State’s motion to stay the preliminary injunction! This means the injunction remains in effect. The State has filed a notice of appeal.
The NRA will continue to keep everyone up to date as this case moves forward.
